Overlooking a breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean is The Reserve House by Metropole Architects. It is located in the sub-tropical region of Dolphin Coast, South Africa. The house is a combination of Tropical Modern Architecture with Futurist elements.
It features a pitched combination roof with large overhangs. Thin cantilevering concrete slabs appear to float in the air and support the upper level. The warm tones of the vertical timber slatted screens are striking and provide privacy as well as shade to some glazing.

From entering the home along the off-shutter concrete wall, your attention is focused on the view of the ocean through bi-fold doors. Just beyond the doors is a pool. The ground floor open plan layout extends outside unto a small deck and wrap-around pool.

Main living areas on the ground floor open to ocean views. These rooms include the Lounge, Dining and Bar areas and four out of the five bedrooms on the upper floor. They also face the prevailing winds with large, glazed windows and doors.
